An Invitation : The Muse Master is here!
For Writers (or, anyone with a love for the written word)
I’ve been teasing The Muse Master for some time now, and finally, I’m ready to release it into the world! Read the Intro post, where I share why and how I created The Muse Master. If it speaks to you, subscribe to our weekly newsletter!
A brief intro on The Muse Master
As you’ll read (or listen to) in the first newsletter, I created The Muse Master after observing how the autonomic nervous system impacts my creative expression and overall well-being.
As I continued to learn more about Nervous System Know-How through Polyvagal Theory while writing my Memoir, I started to see a glaring gap that exists in the Writing World.
We have a gazillion writing courses that focus on craft tools, scene creation, editing your work, and, of course, selling your work. But there’s hardly anything that helps writers root themselves in safety so they can write their best work but also continue to write.
Writing is a deeply embodied experience, yet we forget about the body when we write. Words may be formed in our minds, but stories live in the body.
It is clear to me that Nervous System Education & Mastery need to be a priority for Writers. No amount of craft tools, relaxation, and writing tools can compensate for the lack of Nervous System know-how.
The Muse rises within us only when She feels safe to do so. To Master our Muse, we must Master our Nervous System.
Here’s my invitation:
If you’re a Writer or someone who has or wants to have a deep relationship with the written word, come join us at The Muse Master.
Every week, you’ll receive an e-mail delivered right to your inbox or the Substack app, focusing on 3 essentials:
Education - We’ll explore a concept from Polyvagal Theory/ Dopamine Theory / The Muse Mastery Method to understand the relationship between our Nervous System and Creativity.
Embodiment - We’ll practice a tool for Nervous System Mastery so we can learn to regulate & get into Flow.
Writing Prompt - A weekly prompt or a Writing exercise that’ll dissolve the fear of a blank page and become a catalyst for your Muse to rise.
What Happens to Journey Home to Self?
If you’re not interested in The Muse Master at this time (or ever) but have enjoyed the articles published here, then you’d be happy to know that we will go on as usual with Journey Home to Self.
Last year (actually around this time), I became obsessed with a quote I read in the book ‘The Covenant of Water.’ It said, “Sometimes we have to live the question, not push for the answer.” That has been a directive I’ve since followed, and I continue to do so. Although I scaled back on the podcast last year to focus on my writing (I don’t have any plans to bring it back yet), this publication was created to reflect on the path of self-discovery, and I will keep on doing so, unless, a new directive comes along :)
This Journey of Self-Discovery isn’t about reaching a destination; it’s about walking the path itself. I am grateful that I get to share it with you here.
Thank you for being here!
Much love,
Deepshikha
